Vacation Rental Tips

What do local Park City residents know that I may want to know?
Decide on your location.  The closer you are to the slopes, the more you will pay.
One of the secrets in Park City vacations is that you do not need a car.  They are shuttles to pick you up at the airport for as little as $20 per person and most hotels have shuttle service to the different ski resorts and main street.    In addition, the city resort bus system is SAFE, clean and free.
If you did not know, each of the resorts allow you to ski free the day you arrive if it matches your boarding pass.   There are some blackout dates so make sure you ask.
There are a variety of places to rent your equipment.  There is even a ski rental company that will come directly to you.   Ski rentals at the ski resorts are very convenient but usually the most expensive.

What is the best way to get Ski Passes?
Did you know about the Silver Pass?   It allows you access to all three ski resorts in Park City.
Vacation rentals in Park City Utah can range from Condo's slope side at the ski resorts, town homes at the Popular Redstone center, to luxury homes in Deer Valley.
Renting a home from White Pines can provide you with significant savings of the retail rates at the hotels.   You will get the same rooms and the same access to amenities.
Why Book outside of the resorts?
If you're a penny-pinching traveler, the rewards are obvious. You'll get a cheaper per-night price than many area hotels, a much roomier space, and the benefit of kitchen facilities to cook your own meals (offering significant savings over pricey restaurants). In many cases, the location can't be beat: almost every home is 20 minutes to all three ski resorts in Park City.
When is the best time to book?
As for when to book—that will depend on your destination. To ensure the best availability, particularly for popular destinations and peak travel times (holidays, school vacations, etc.), it's always recommended to book a few months before your trip. If you know your destination and the time you want is really in demand, it's not unreasonable to book a year in advance. And while it's not always the best strategy, some properties do offer deals if there's last-minute availability. You can always ask if there are any available discounts.

So why does every one like Park City Summers?
The Locals in Park City have come to love the summers as much as they love the winters.

What Should You Watch Out For?
Whether you're new to vacation rentals or an old pro, there are always a few precautions you should take before your trip.
Ensure you receive a well-written rental agreement in place before any money changes hands.  The contract should state the terms and economics.  If there's no agreement in place, don't pay a deposit, because without one there's no itemization on how to get your money back."
With the economic recession, there has also been concern about vacation homes going into foreclosure. If you're concerned about this possibility, make sure to request a clause specifically about foreclosure to be written into the rental agreement so you can recoup any lost deposits or payments.
